it's all for Tohjiwa
to understand life & humans
The first time I typed a query into Google, I was still in elementary school. Back then, I was used to static electronic devices like game consoles and VCD players. But when I typed something into Google search for the first time, it felt like the device actually understood me. It was an incredible aha moment.
My interest in engineering started in a corner of my junior high school classroom. I wondered how a cable could send data from a computer to a phone, and back again. Once I got home, I cut open a USB cable I usually used, only to find ordinary copper wires inside. That was the exact moment I started asking myself what was actually going on beneath the surface.
In high school, I wrote my first programs, a simple game and an antivirus. Since then, I haven't stopped learning how electronic devices work and how software actually runs on hardware.
As we kept growing, the time came to define our core values when setting up Tohjiwa Teknologi. I tried to answer a simple question: "What is the most valuable thing that can be done in a simple way?"
As I wrote at the time:
"Helping a grandmother recover from the flu, helping a mother take care of a younger sibling, and
making sure a father can keep his family happy."
All of that means being a small part of something that can save a family. At that moment, I realized that “Tohjiwa Teknologi is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one”.
We have always strived to do more, to do important and meaningful things with the resources we have.
